The War Rages

You may have heard the phrase until you think it's a worn out cliché, but it's never been truer than now.  We are in a war for the very soul of our nation.  The November, 2004 election will set the trend for the next generation and ultimately, the fate of the USA!

Think that's hyperbole?  Hardly!    The headline screamed, "Kansas Group Monitors Sermons" (AP 7/24/04).  Another "Political Snitches Monitor Sermons" (WorldNet daily 7/23/04) explaining how Americans United for the Separation of Church and State are monitoring Pastor's sermons nationwide to find points made that can be used to challenge the church's tax exemption.  An Arkansas Pastor is in trouble with the IRS because he preached on biblical issues in a manner deemed pro Bush.  Pastors in Pennsylvania are seeking insurance to protect them from the state's new hate speech law, because preaching against same sex marriage and calling homosexuality an abomination is considered "hate speech".  A Clover, S.C. town councilman out to stop storefront churches because they add nothing to the city's economy.    The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will not certify a Christian Sorority because the sorority insists members be Christian.  In other areas no public prayer in the name of Jesus is allowed because the Witches of Wicca object.  Indeed any prayer at all is objectionable because the atheists protest.  Any public display of the Ten Commandments is not allowed because we are a pluralistic society and could not possibly acknowledge in any way the God of our nation's foundation and founding fathers.

MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT; there are people in this country unalterably committed to silencing the Conservative Christian voice!  Note former Clinton Administration Labor Secretary Robert Reich. (American Prospect 7/4/04), in an article "BUSH'S GOD",

"The great conflict of the 21^st century will not be between the West & terrorism…The true battle will be between modern civilization  & anti-modernists; between those who believe in the primacy of the individual & those who believe human beings owe their allegiance & identity to a higher authority,; between those who give priority to life in this world & those who believe that human life is mere preparation for an existence beyond life:…those who believe in science, reason, & logic & those who believe that truth is revealed in scripture & religious dogma."

There you have it articulated for you.  You might say this is a slap at Islamic extremists, but you best understand fundamentalist Christians are included in this diatribe.  It is not religion these people object to.  Where would the civil rights efforts of Dr. Martin Luther King have gone without using the churches?  And no one seriously legally challenged Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton for using the church to further their presidential aspirations, or for receiving and using church offerings for political issues. No one goes after the National Council of Churches, Catholic Bishops or any other liberal clergy group, when they speak out supporting the liberal, no standards, and no absolute truth agenda.  Only the Bible believing, unwavering in conviction, conservative voices must be silenced!

Just look at the ideology on the left.  Seattle Times (8/22/04) reports the support of "Hempfest, a legalize marijuana crowd, pro-abortion, pornographers, promiscuity pushers of the entertainment industry, and the political world.  The Bible rejecting, fundamentalist Christian hating, don't speak to me of values and ethics crowd.  That powerful lump of folk want to silence and marginalize from our society's mainstream the Conservative Christian voice and they are willing to spend any amount and go to any extreme to do it!   BUT SOME OF US WILL NOT BE QUIET, NO MATTER WHAT!!

America is under attack by religion, but it is not Christianity!  It is a prostitute of religion, teaching people that God honors murdering women, children and any other individual deemed an infidel.  This misguided belief purports God will reward such godless evil with entrance into a heavenly whorehouse where all one's evil lust can be satisfied on 72 virgins for eternity.  Walter Rogers, of CNN filed a report on Britain's young Muslims.  They were very adamant that they wanted nothing of Western culture or thought, especially the idea of democracy.  Islam, say they, is perfect and needs nothing added to it.  Rather they are determined to make the entire world fundamentalist Islamic at any and all costs.  This is no different than C.A.I.R. (Council on American Islamic Relations) has said its underlying goal is for the USA. Quote Ohmar M. Ahmad, C.A.I.R. Chairman, "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant.  The Koran….should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on earth."  C.A.I.R. board member Imam Sarij Wahaj calls for replacing the American government with a Caliphate."  These people are using the democracy of our free nations to destroy democracy. This is hellish and no one dare call it what it is for fear of offending. It is treason and a "clear and present danger" to our country.

So our political correctness requires us to fear all religions.  How the enemies of fundamentalist Christianity love to lump us all together! BUT LISTEN:

From its inception the backbone and foundation of the USA has been Bible, believing Christianity.  Neither fundamentalist Baptists, nor Scandinavian Lutherans or Southern Pentecostals are trying to blow Americans up or end our way of life.  It would help if we got our heads out of wherever we've hidden them, and see the world and the USA' S struggles realistically.  Or do we have the guts for it?

The situation is not being aided by a church that doesn't live what it says it believes because it doesn't believe what it says it believes.  FACT IS, WE DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING WE DO NOT LIVE, no matter what we preach or our church dogma outlines!

The war is raging and our enemy is playing for keeps.  Even if you are not a Christian, you had better see the real threat we face.  Some may choose to ignore it, but sooner or later, the tide will come upon you.  This is a spiritual war for the soul of our nation.  We fight it by prayer, living righteously, voting & letting our testimony be known.

We are desperate for a deep moving, revival of repentance in the church and across our nation.  That is our only hope of winning this war. " For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God…"  (II Cor. 10:4-5b).  "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation, to everyone that believes it" (emphasis mine) Rom.1:16.
